Due to COVID-19 safety reasons, Google bought a new feature into a google map. Recently Product manager of google Maps Sujoy Banerjee shared a blog product blog about this new google map feature. This google map COVID-19 layer will help people in many ways. This also includes a new COVID-19 layer to Google Maps to help people understand the number of cases in any given area. Color Coding will everyone to understand how vulnerable or safe is a specific location based on various data.
- “While getting around is more complicated these days, our hope is that these Google Maps features will help you get where you need to be as safely and efficiently as possible. The COVID layer starts rolling out worldwide on Android and iOS this week.”
Google will even share data down to the city level, using data from Johns Hopkins, The New York Times and Wikipedia. This is the same data that shows on Google’s pages for COVID-19 cases, according to Tech Crunch.
The new tech will be available throughout the week.
